Start with oneself they say, so here it is.

Here's how I'd like this world to be:

  • Earth is healing and all her life thriving again because we've stopped hurting her.

  • A world at peace because we're finally coming from a place of love, not fear. No more "us" vrs. "them" ...just us.

  • The kids are doing great! Very excited about the future and they're leading the way!

  • We live more simply—closer to the earth and more in real community with each other.

  • We're actually experiencing government "Of, By, and For the People" and getting really good at it.

  • We find out we don't actually need all the motor vehicles.

  • We don't even need "money" anymore (!) We learn what we love doing and are good at (might be many things) and we give those skills where needed.

  • We meet our needs without making such a mess.

  • Our lives are fun and purposeful—full of art, music, stories, good work, friendship, love...

  • There's more that I could add but I'll stop here for now.

So tell me, how would YOU like this world to be?

I would like the people of the world to let go of all of the unnecessary baggage they carry.

Then I would like them all to kneel more frequently in gratitude on the lap of the Earth --and to contemplate the protection and provision of the Spirit.

Then I would like them all to get up --and to commit to practice sacrificial love, compassion, forgiveness, and generosity with all their closest neighbors --seen and unseen --human and otherwise --sentient and more sentient than we are.

Then I would like them all to go ahead and take the next even-better action to create the World and its People anew --and anew --and again anew.

We would make time to talk with our neighbors, asking each other what about what we really love doing, and also what we need help with. Neighborhoods would be more friendly, cooperative, and beautiful. Bicycles would outnumber cars, and we'd invent all sorts of bicycle-based devices to move people and carry things---pedal-powered taxis, etc. Neighbors would work together to grow food, build and maintain their houses, and celebrate the seasons together...We would all play more--more music and games, people would find meaningful work in restoring the ecological balance of nature, and we'd lose interest in watching the TV--especially most would be turning off the corporate news. Beauty and harmony would be the values guiding how we see the world, how we interact with each other. We'd have a local currency that we'd use to keep track of our exchanges, which would feel more like gift exchanges than buying and selling. People would find their inner peace and reflect it outward into the world.
